Presented by Robert Flanagan, Managing Director of Dalesman Magazine.
Amanda Owen is known to millions of television viewers thanks to three series of ITV’s The Dales, living a life that has almost gone in today’s modern world, a life ruled by the seasons and her animals. She is a farmer’s wife and shepherdess, living alongside her husband Clive and seven children at Ravenseat, a 2000 acre sheep hill farm at the head of Swaledale in North Yorkshire. She is also now also a Sunday Times Top 10 Bestselling author, and one national newspaper has called her the “tweeting shepherdess” because she journals every aspect of life on the farm through social media. Amanda is a very modern role model living in a very traditional world. Few have done so much to promote the ideals of life in the remote Yorkshire countryside.
