Colin Findley

Colin Findley deserves special recognition for his community work in supporting and improving the lives of hundreds of disabled people and their families, carers and friends in Doncaster.

In 2013, Colin acted bravely resigning from his job and establishing his own non-for-profit community organisation, DICE.

DICE has grown offering social events along with a range of inclusive day visits. Colin and his team are fully committed to promoting within the wider community, and has spoken in support of this on local radio and at local events, actively highlighting public awareness of disability issues. Colin has also developed his ‘Yes I Can’ programme, aimed at mainstream Primary school children effectively supports teachers to explore notions of ‘ability’ with their class in a fun, interactive way. It is currently being offered to Primary schools across Doncaster. He is a real, local hero who deserves recognition for the good that he has achieved.
