Reece was born in 1959 in Normanton and lived in Yorkshire until leaving to train at the prestigious Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. This has led to a long and successful acting career in television, theatre, film and radio drama.
Reece has appeared in some of the most popular TV shows and films over the last 30 years. He starred alongside the late John Thaw for 5 years in the TV series Home to Roost, and played the character ‘Joe McIntyre’ in Coronation Street from 2008 to 2010. Reece has starred in many TV dramas including Threads and Jim Henson’s Storyteller, Take Me Home, Spooks, Life On Mars, Conviction, Silent Witness and many others.
Reece has had various stage roles which include plays at the Royal Shakespeare Company, the National Theatre and of course the West Yorkshire Playhouse where he had the honour of playing the leading role of Jack Rover in Wild Oats in the theatre’s inaugural production some 24 years ago.
A dedicated follower of Huddersfield Town FC, Reece once more resides in Yorkshire with his wife, the actress Zara Turner and their two children, Elwy and Luca.
